SPEAKER_00:

This week we are on the theme of truth, and I just want to focus on the spirit of truth. We need to define what truth is because truth is what is describing this type of spirit. The spirit of truth is not a what, the spirit of truth is a who because as believers we tend to associate only power with the Holy Spirit and neglect his personhood. The Holy Spirit is a person obviously he carries power, but at times we emphasize on the power of the Holy Spirit and then we just negate or neglect who is as a person. So the spirit of truth is not just what truth is, is it's a person who personifies truth in himself. So what is truth? Well, we live in a very relative society that is not objective when it comes to reality. Somebody can tell me, Oh, this is my truth, you have your own truth, and as a result of that, there's so much chaos and confusion in our world today. Biblical sense, based on my studies, um, the word truth is used in various senses in the scripture. It denotes um that which is opposed to falsehood, to lies, to deceptions, and also it means um fidelity, faithfulness, consistency, and um truthfulness of a substance. It also signifies um the doctrines of Jesus Christ, the teachings of Jesus Christ. Sometimes we call the we call it as the truth of the gospel or the truth. So the teachings of Jesus Christ and the gospel message and the kingdom message is the truth. And Jesus Himself, you know, called Himself the I Am statement, the I am affirmatives that usually we use to describe himself. I am the bread of life, I am the way, I am the fountain of life, I am the Alpha and the Omega. Jesus also made this affirmative, confirmative statement that I am the truth. So truth is not just an abstract concept, but truth is also a person, and Jesus refers to himself as that. Some insights about truth. Truth is is is a fact and and also what reality really is. Truth is objective in a general sense, and truth can also be subjective as in a fact based on our individual experiences or the experiences of people. For example, the truth the facts in Uganda in terms of the weather is different from the facts in Canada. So in Uganda, how people live their life could be subjective facts. In Canada, how we live our lives could be subjective facts. But when it comes to truth, truth now transcends time, space, and matter. So truth is applicable everywhere, every time, and everyone. The truth that was in the Old Testament carries in the New Testament. The truth in the ancient times carries in our time, especially when it comes to the truth of God, certain principles, certain teachings, certain doctrines that carries goes beyond time, space, and matter. Whereas facts are born by time, space, and matter. At times, what it what is truth for your experience, what you um are going through might be different from somebody else. It does not mean that what you are going through is completely different or it's it's it's not truth. That is your subjective reality, different from mine. Sometimes it could be similar, and one of the reasons why Jesus Christ, I believe, had to come down in the human form is to experience the truth of humanity. God is truth, but God had to come down in his creation and experience what suffering is, and experience what it means to be betrayed, and experience what it means to be denied, and experience what it means to be rejected, because these are all human life experiences, human life realities that Jesus Christ, if he was just sitting in heaven, I don't think he'll be able to experience this truth, these realities about us. That is why the word the word is true, but the word became concrete, physical, tangible truth by undergoing human realities of pain, of suffering, of joy, of anger. So there's two components of truth, it could be abstract and it can also be concrete. And Jesus Christ pretty much wasn't just saying that, oh, I am the concept of truth or I embody what truth is. He actually lives out truth, and that is why he's able to relate with you and I. So truth does not change. Truth is constant, truth is comprehensive, meaning that it's it's general, it's generic in every sphere. Truth is conformity to actual reality. Truth has to conform. You don't you don't tell truth to conform to you, you conform to truth. Truth is corrective, meaning that it doesn't care about your own opinions. Our opinions are based on assumptions, presumptions, they're subjective. But when when the truth is revealed, it corrects your personal opinions. And truth is certain. Truth is so certain that you can bet on it, you can put your faith on it. And if you look at when I look up the Hebrew language of truth, I realize that there's faithfulness attached to truth. Faithfulness attached to truth, meaning that truth in the biblical sense, it is reliable, it is trustworthy. So when we and I, when we read the scripture, or when you and I, when God tells us what to do, we can trust it, we can rely on it because it is faithful, it is sound, it is worthy, it is certain. And then I also look at in in the biblical sense that when it when we talk about truth, not just in a in a moral sense, which could be like you can describe yourself as an honest person or a person of integrity or a person of faithfulness or a person of sincerity. All of these terms denote truth, describing who you are. So truth can be in a moral sense in the biblical way. Talking about God as being true, that is his character, he is true, he is honest, is a God of integrity, he is faithful, he is sincere, he is reliable, he can be trusted because of truth. The reason why you and I would trust God is because of truth, and truth is based, trust is based on truth. If there's no truth, you cannot really trust that much. And if there's no, if you're building trust on lies, that lie will not sustain that relationship for long. That lie will not sustain that relationship for long. That is why God wants us to relate with him for so long, because that is why he's giving us the truth about himself and the truth about us and the truth about life, that way we can base our faith and be certain that wow, this is the reality of God. Truth in a mental sense, sometimes we look at it from information, knowledge, and revelation. Our faith, our Bible is not uh a fantasy book, it's an actual fact. When you read the life of these people, such as Moses and David and Solomon and Abraham, they existed with real life example. That is why the Bible Paul says that the Bible is for our testimony. When you're going through certain situations, child of God, you can open the scripture and see a similar experience, a similar fact, a similar testimony of how God came true for Moses, of how God came true for David. That's why sometimes the Bible is referred to as the book of testimonies, is the book of revelation, is the book of um principles, because principles are truth that are applicable in every time. So, in a mental sense, truth is revelation. Truth is foundational, it is it is the root and the rock of anything, anything that you and I we want to do, we have to base it on truth. You want to live, you want to fulfill ministry, or you want to build a relationship, you want to build a business, or you want to start work. Make sure truth is the foundation of everything that you do, because that will last. Truth is fundamental, truth is firm, truth is factual, truth can also be faith-based, but doesn't mean because truth is faith-based, there's no evidence of our faith because the Bible says faith comes by what? By hearing, hearing what the word of God, and the word of God is true. Don't man of God share with us sources of truth from yesterday's message, just to um re-emphasize and summarize some of them. And I put them in order because sometimes when you read the Bible, God put things in order. That's why, as Bible students, every every time when you study the Bible, make sure you carefully examine it very well. You look at a repetition of certain words, certain phrases, you look at the order of things, because the other things are there for a reason. Because God, in order for you to do B, you need to first do A. But sometimes we want to do B, but we have not accomplished A. So these four sources of truth, they're in order. Number one, the scripture of truth. That is the Bible, the scripture of truth. In First Timothy chapter 2, verse 15, it says, Be diligent to present yourself, approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. This Bible that you and I we possess is called the word of truth, the scripture of truth. Ephesians chapter 1, verse 13. It says, In him you also trusted after you heard the word of truth. Again, like I was saying, for you to trust God, you need to know the truth about God. And for you to know the truth about God, it's not gonna come within your spirit, it's not gonna come from somebody else, it's not gonna come you looking at creation, it's not gonna come from society, it's gonna come from this specific book that is living, that is active, that has been around, that the world thinks it's irrelevant. That is the book that will tell you about God, and that book is referred to as the word of truth. And look what Paul states it said, the gospel of your salvation. For you and I to be saved, we are saved as a result of the truth of the scripture, the word of truth, the gospel of our salvation, and for us as ministers, if we want to preach the gospel, if we want people to be saved, we don't we don't need to look at external sources, we don't need to use psychological means, we don't need to use scientific facts to explain the existence of God, the reality of God. No, we have a book that records who God is, and that is the book which is called the Gospel of Your Salvation. So we have it all, we have it here. That is the scripture of truth, in whom also having belief, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. So, do you know that in order for you to even have the Holy Spirit, you need the scripture? Sometimes we want to bypass the scripture and go and go straight into the spirit. I know sometimes somebody was asking me, Brian, do you hear from God? Do you hear, do you hear from God? I'm like, what do you mean if I hear from God? Like, like in your spirit. I said, I'm very careful hearing from God in my spirit if I don't know a scripture to confirm what I am hearing in my spirit. I know some people they trust their spirit, which is fine. I can only trust the voices in my spirit when I know that they are in line in the scripture. I know some people God gives them, they're able to be very sensitive to hear voices in their hearts, know what God is telling them. That some people have that gift. For me, I don't have that gift. Even if I have that gift, I want to be safe to ensure that whatever I am hearing in my inner man, it is in line with the scripture. Because we are in the last days where people now will start saying, Oh, this is what God is saying, but what God is saying is not in line with the scripture. That is why I am putting these sources of truth in order. You cannot bypass the scripture and go straight into the spirit, child of God. Look what it says in 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 22. Since you have purified your soul in obeying the truth, again, in obeying the truth through the spirit, you see, obeying the truth, that is this that is the scripture, through the spirit, through the spirit, so the scripture comes before the spirit. Okay, and then after that, we have the son of truth, the son of truth, that is Jesus Christ, who is the word of God. Okay, in John 1, verse 17, it says, For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus. Again, the reason why the Pharisees, the religious people at that time of Jesus Christ, they rejected Jesus Christ, they resented Jesus Christ, they refused Jesus Christ, they refused Jesus Christ, even though they had access to the law, and the law speaks of Jesus Christ, but guess what? They didn't have the spirit behind the law that tells them about Jesus Christ. That is why the Bible says that the law was given to Moses, but guess what? Truth, grace, and truth came through Jesus Christ. We have this Bible, people can use the same Bible to distort truth. People can use the same Bible to deceive. Do you know that people can use the word of God to deceive? That's what it that's what Satan did in the garden. He used the word of God against us, he used the word of God to deceive Adam and Eve. Satan can use this word, child of God, to deceive you. Satan can use your spirit to deceive you, thinking that God is the one speaking. You can have access to this Bible, child of God. That is why I encourage you and I to study, to show ourselves approved, to divide, divide the word of truth. Because Satan can use this same word to deceive us when we don't have knowledge, when we don't have understanding, when we don't have wisdom. Look what it says in John 14, verse 6. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. This is the Son of truth. Look what it says in John 8, verse 14. Jesus answered and said, Even if I be a witness of myself, my witness is true. This is Jesus declaring himself as the source of truth. Now let's go to this before I get to the the the third, the third, which is which is gonna be my emphasis, the spirit of truth. I want to I'm gonna jump to number four. The servants of God are witnesses of the truth. We are not the sole source of the truth. We are not the source of the truth, we are witnesses of the truth. So if a man of God is telling you that you know what, this is the revelation that I have, and and they monopolize monopolize that revelation of God, child of God, you're ending up for deception. The word of God cannot be monopolized. The word of God is not private invention, it's not private interpretation. That is what the Catholic Church did, that is what the Mormon church did, that is what the Jehovah's Witness Church Church did, that is what Islam did. Muhammad had a special revelation. Anybody that tells you they have a special revelation when you hear from those people run, there's no special revelation, you're just discovering the revelation that is already written. That is why, child of God, make sure you confirm what other men of God to make sure that you're on the right path, because we can deceive ourselves thinking that wow, I'm the only person that have this knowledge about God. No, you're not the only person that have this knowledge about God. The disciples thought that, oh Jesus, we're the only person serving you, we're the only person following. Jesus said, No, I have other same with Elijah saying that God, I'm the only person who's faithful to you. God said, No, I have about other prophets who are faithful to me, so we can be spiritually cocky. So we have to make sure as servants of God we are witnesses of the truth. Look what it says in spiritual giant. Look what it says in John chapter 5, verse 33. We have we use you have sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth. Don't forget that John was the last prophet in the Old Testament, and he came to bear witness to the truth, but he was not the truth, just as he said that I am not the light, but I came to bear witness of the light. So he came to be a witness of the truth. Look what it says in John 15, verse 27, and you also will be a witness. So this is this is Jesus now speaking to his disciples that I am the truth, and you will be a witness of me as the truth. Why? Because you have been with me from the beginning. I've explained to you what the truth is, I've explained to you who God is, and now I want you to take exactly what I've said to you. And guess what? If you cannot remember what I've said to you, I'm gonna send a helper who's going to remind you exactly what I've said to you. And you said exactly what I've said to you in your preaching, in your teaching, in your evangelism. Child of God, don't try to reinvent or hard or subtract or multiply or divide the word of God, study it as it is. Romans chapter 9, verse 1. I tell the truth in Christ. This is now Paul now saying that, guys, I am not lying. My conscience also bear witness in the Holy Spirit. You see, you see what he's saying that I speak the truth in Christ. And guess what? The Holy Spirit confirms what I am saying. So though the scripture of truth and the spirit of truth, they go hand in hand, they never contradict each other. The word of God and the Holy Spirit they speak in alignment. Look what it says in Ephesians chapter 5, verse 25. Therefore, putting away lying, let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor. So, again, we are witnesses of truth. So God is encouraging you and I to put away lying, to speak truth to one another. I know at times it's hard to speak truth to one another, but we have to allow each other to speak truth to each other in wisdom and in love with the right intention, with the right end result. You don't just speak truth because you want to condemn people, you don't just speak truth because you want to feel like you know it all. No, you speak truth out of love, you speak truth in wisdom, you speak truth with the intention that you want the best for this person. So we should learn to speak truth to one another because we bear the truth. Now, when you look at the Godhead, right? Because Jesus said in 1 John 5 7, it says, For there are three that bear witness in heaven. This is now talking about the Trinity, okay? There are three that bear witness in heaven the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. And these three are one. So he's saying that because the Pharisees were attesting him. Jesus, who are you to speak of your own accord? Who do you think you are? You claim to be God the Father. You said you're over than Abraham, you're just you man. We know who your father is, we know who your mother is. Jesus, your your clown, Jesus, your your cuckoo. Now Jesus is saying that I I have spoken to you guys, I've shown you guys my works. You choose not to believe, but you know what? I have three witnesses. Three witnesses in heaven the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit. So so this is pretty much the Trinity concept. And guess what? These three are one, and they are all the truth. Speak the truth, they stand for the truth, they show the truth. So God the Father reveals the truth to God the Son. That's what he did. Because look what it says. God the Father reveals the truth to God the Son. And God the Father is the truth as well. Numbers chapter 23, verse 19. God is not a man that he should lie, nor a son of man that he should repent. As he said, will he not do? Or as he's spoken, will he not make it good? Psalm 31, verse 5. Unto you, unto your hand I commit my spirit. You redeem me, oh Lord God of truth. This is a prophecy of Jesus Christ. Obviously, David is relating the same message to himself, but it's also a messianic prophecy of Jesus Christ when he was on the cross saying that I commit my spirit, for you have redeemed me, O Lord God of truth. So Jesus is telling us that God the Father is the God of truth. Okay, now God the Son, God the Son speaks the truth that he hears from God the Father. Look what it says in John chapter 8, verse 40. But but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You see, oh God, it was saying that, guys. I came here to declare God to you. I came here to speak the truth about God. Because when you look at the Old Testament, God the Father was more referenced, it was more mentioned than God the Son, God the Spirit. Yes, God the Son, God the Spirit, they were still in in they were still present in the Old Testament life of people. But you see more of Yahweh, God the Father, involvement in the children of Israel. In the New Testament, that's when we see more of the involvement of God the Son, God the Spirit. That is why people are confused. Jewish people are confused. Why this Jesus? Why can't it be Yahweh? Why this Holy Spirit? Because in the Old Testament, it was more Yahweh, God the Father. The focus was more on God the Father. God the Son, God the Spirit, they were still on the side, you know, they were still on the side. Because God the Father was trying to present God the Son, and then God the Son said, I have to go, I have to leave, you guys. It's for your own good for me to leave, and then I can present God the Spirit. Oh God, oh God. Oh my god, oh my God. You see, from the Old Testament, we see God the Father in the in between God the Son at the end, God the Spirit. That is why everything is about God the Spirit. That's why the Bible said, In the last days, I will pour out my spirit upon sons and daughters. So we are in the time where we see a lot of functions, a lot of the activities of the spirit. So there's no way you you can be a child of God or you can claim to know God without the spirit. There's no way because we are in that time where it's all about God the Spirit. In the time of Jesus, it was all about Jesus. In the time of the law, it was all about God the Father. So each of them had a time period, but they're always working together. Okay? So he says, now God the Spirit speaks the truth that he hears from God the Son. Look what it says in John 14, 26. But the Elper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to remembrance all things that I have said to you. Wow. God the Father speaks about God the Son. God the Son speaks about God the Father. God the Spirit speaks about God the Son. Okay? So both God the Son and God the Spirit use and speak in alignment with the scripture. Because the Bible says all scripture in the Old and the New Testament, it is given by the inspiration of God the Father. Okay. So we can also look at the sources of lies before I actually get to the spirit of truth. Number one, Satan. The Bible said he's the he's the master of demonic spirit. Even Jesus Christ called him as the father of lies. Look what it says in John 8, verse 44. I read, you are of your father the devil. That is why they could not believe in Jesus. They could not believe in the truth because their father is a liar. So I'm not I'm not bothered when people don't believe in Jesus. Because they are they are they are they are they are consumed, they are possessed by lying spirits. He said, You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a mother from the beginning and does not stand in the truth. Oh God, oh God. Satan can pretend to be in the truth, but definitely truth will expose him, and he will not be able to stand in the truth because there's no truth in him. He will manipulate. You see, that's why people will come into your life, pretend to be with you, pretend to be authentic. Just allow time. Just allow time. Eventually, the truth, their true nature, their true intention will be exposed. Satan will pretend to be the angel of light, the angel of truth. But guess what? He cannot stand the truth because why? The truth is not in him. When he speaks, he speaks lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. So we know the source of lie, we know the source of falsehood, we know the source of deception. It is from Satan. Now we also have spirit, demonic spirit as the spirit of lie. Do you know that God actually used the spirit of lie to deceive prophets? That's the thing that baffles my mind. It says in 1 Kings chapter 22, verse 21 to 23 then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord and said, I will persuade him. Then the Lord said to him, In what way? So he said, I will go out and be a lying spirit in the mouth of his prophets. Oh my God. That is why, child of God, as servants of God, we have to check our spirit, we have to check our hearts. Because if we don't check our spirit, we don't check our heart, we can open the door for lying spirit, thinking that we are speaking on behalf of God. And the Lord said, You shall persuade him and also prevail. Go out and do so. Therefore, look, the Lord has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all the prophets of yours, and the Lord has declared disaster against you. Oh my God. So we have the spirit of lie. We also have self. Self can be a source of lie. Our own spirit can lie to us. Look what it says in Jeremiah chapter 17, verse 9 to 10. The heart is deceitful, oh above all things. So when you start saying that, oh Brahim, let me check in my spirit. Oh, let me let me see what's in my spirit to hear the voice of God. Child of God, don't do that. Don't use your spirit to detect, to determine the voice of God. Don't do that. Because the Bible states that the heart is deceitful above all things. You that's what we call self-deception and desperately wicked. Who can know it? You don't even know yourself. Then you then you're trying to tell us who God is from your own heart, from your own resources, like a devil. No, tell us who God is from the scripture that we all have access to. That's why when I go to church, when I go to church, sometimes my friend thinks that I'm very rude. I said, sir, I'm not rude to men of God, woman of God. I am critical. I don't just allow anybody to speak into my life. I I attentively listen to messages online or when I'm in church because I want to I want to make sure what this person is saying, it is in line with the scripture. Because I don't want to deceive. I don't care if you're a man of God, if you're a woman of God, I will I will critique you in accordance with the word of God. And that is my right, and I'm entitled to it. And that is what even Paul encouraged us as believers to do. Test every spirit, even in church, even the people that you listen to online to guide your heart, to guide your mind. And now, this the other source of lie from is from society. Look what it says in Revelation 12, verse 9. So the great dragon was cast out, the serpent of old called the devil and Satan, who deceives the old world. He was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. So it baffles my mind when you and I we see the world telling us about God. And some churches are bringing this nonsense into church. Like you see all this uh uh democratic liberal churches trying to uh uh uh how do you call it perform gay rights and marriage in churches? That that is a demonic worldly idea, it's not scriptural. So we have to be very, very careful not to allow society to define what truth is, and John uh 2 John 1 to 7 for many deceivers have gone out in the world. Oh God, God is just many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. So, child of God, we should be very, very, very careful about our society because it is full of deceivers, full of liars. Okay, now this is where my focus is the spirit of truth. Where does the Holy Spirit come from? Jesus said in John 15, verse 26, said, But when the helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, because we need to know it's it's its emergence, we need to know its origin. The spirit of truth who proceeds from the father, he will testify of me. That word proceeds does not mean okay, that's when the Holy Spirit was was created, he wasn't created, or that's when the Holy Spirit started. No, that word proceed also means continuation of a course of action. So Jesus is saying that I have done my part, but someone is gonna come who is exactly like me, who's going to continue what I have started, and this person comes from who? From my father, just as I have come from the father. Oh God, he's saying that I came from the father to tell you guys about the father. Now I'm gonna send somebody who is exactly like me, who also came from the father, and he will testify about me just as I have testified about the father. Oh God, oh God, oh God, child of God. That is why we need to know his origin because you cannot tell me that the Holy Spirit is speaking to you when it contradicts God the Father. You cannot tell me that the Holy Spirit is speaking to you when he contradicts God the Son. Lala, it's not gonna work. Okay, why the Holy Spirit? John 16, verse 7. It says, Nevertheless, I tell you the truth, it is your own advantage that I go away. They didn't want Jesus to go, they want they want to keep Jesus like physically. Jesus is saying that, guys, I am limited physically. Let me go, let me go. I have done my I've done my assignment. Let me go. Greater is he that is in you, let him come. But they want they want to keep him. He said, guys, let me speak the truth to you, okay? Me going away is for your own advantage. Ah God, hey. For if I do not go away, the elder will not come. Hey, child of God. All of them have a mission. You see, when God is walking, when God the Son is working, the father does not interrupt, the father actually confirms. When God the Spirit is working, Jesus does not interrupt, He confirms. So you cannot tell me that this is what the Holy Spirit is doing, but it contradicts what God the Son has done. It's a lie. Read your scripture. He said, Guys, I have to go. If I don't go, the helper is not gonna come because I have my assignment, and the rest of the assignment, he has to finish it. So I gotta go. I gotta go. But if I depart, I will send him to you. So that word helper, the paraclay, the same suitable helper like Jesus, who is capable to continue in communion with Christ. And guess what? That is the same word that is used for Eve. That Eve is a helper to Adam, to Adam. But when we say that women are helper, we think that oh, we're trying to abuse women. No, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is the helper of Jesus to us. So a woman, a wife is a helper to a man. That's why God said that it's not good for a man to be alone. So that's why Jesus is saying that it is good for me to go. Ah, child of God. Hey, can two work together except they agreed? It's all about partnership, partnership in the Trinity, partnership in ministry. Okay, okay. So, why is he called the Spirit of Truth? Okay, the Holy Spirit is God the Spirit, He is the third person of the Godhead. Since God is Spirit, that means God is the ultimate reality of truth. Jesus, who is the fullness of truth, was the first one to refer to the Holy Spirit as the spirit of truth. Okay, the spirit of truth serves as a name, as a title or an attribute describing the Holy Spirit as being truthful and also functions as to tell the truth and to help us arrive at the truth. As a believer, we need to stand for the truth, we need to speak the truth, we need to show the truth to the world because the Holy Spirit is called such as the spirit of truth to clearly differentiate himself from the rest. Like I mentioned, from demonic spirit, from the devil, from you and I. That is why he is called the spirit of truth to clearly set himself apart from other demonic spirit that will speak lies into us. Okay, so now the Bible says in John 14, verse 7, the spirit of truth, whom the Lord the world cannot receive because it neither sees him nor knows him, but you know him, for he will dwell with you and he will be with you. So, child of God, because we have given our life to Jesus, we know the Holy Spirit, and he lives in us. The world, the culture, they cannot see him because they refuse and they reject him. The world cannot know because they reject the gospel. What is it that the Holy Spirit can do for us as being the truth? The spirit of truth serves as an attribute, meaning that that is his nature and character, not just a name. He is this he's called the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of truth. Look what it says in John 1, John 5, 6. This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ, not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the spirit who bear witness because the spirit is truth. So you see how the differentiation here from Jesus and the Spirit it says, Jesus Christ came in the flesh. Now, the spirit, the spirit bears witness of Jesus, and this spirit that bears witness of Jesus, the Bible said he is called the Spirit of truth. He the spirit is truth, that's his name, that's his nature. Look what it says in Ephesians chapter 5, verse 9. For the fruit of the spirit is all goodness, righteousness, and truth. So so the character of the Holy Spirit that he has distributed in your eye, it is truth along with goodness, along with righteousness. So when we refer to as the spirit of truth, we're talking about a name that is given to the Holy Spirit. We're also referring to as his nature, spirit of truth. Let's look at reference and recognition of Jesus when it comes to the Holy Spirit of truth. Okay, he comes in the name of Jesus, it does not come under his, he has the right to come in his own name, but it doesn't do that. Look what it says in John 14, 26, whom the Father will send in my name. So he comes in the name. We need to understand that he's not going to speak anything contrary to Jesus. He comes in the name of Jesus, he comes in the authority of Jesus. In John 16, 13, it says, He will not speak on his own authority. No, no, but whatever he hears, he will speak. And guess what? He also comes to glorify Jesus in John 16, verse 14. He will glorify me. Again, he comes in the name of Jesus, he comes in the authority of Jesus, he comes to glorify Jesus. Okay, these are all references and recognition of Jesus of the spirit of truth. Now, the spirit of truth serves as an action in a function of telling us the truth. Number one, he will teach us all things. This is where I'm going to close. He will teach us all things. According to John chapter 14, verse 26, it says, He will teach you all things. All things that Jesus has said in the past, all things that Jesus is saying now, all things that Jesus will say in the future. Okay, he will bring to remembrance all things that I said to you. That is the things that Jesus Christ was saying to his disciples that they could not remember. That is why the Holy Spirit is also, he has the same divine attribute of divinity. He is the omnipotent, omniscience, and omnipresence. He is all powerful, all present, and all-knowledgeable. Okay, so he's capable to bring to remembrance all the things that Jesus has said. That is why the author of the scripture is the Holy Spirit. There's no way Moses could have uh uh uh uh wrote the um the creation account because he wasn't there, he wasn't physically present. But guess who revealed that to Moses? The Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit revealed all that, all that to Moses. So the Holy Spirit has what it takes to remind you of what Jesus Christ has done, he will bring to remembrance all the things, not just not just few. Again, listen to that word, all things, all things, all things, all not just few things, okay? He knows it all. He's the omniscience, all-knowing God, okay. He will testify of Jesus. That's the second third point. John chapter 15, verse 26. He would testify of me. He's not gonna testify about himself because he's is he he has come in the name of Jesus, he has come in the authority of Jesus, he has come to glorify Jesus, okay? He will guide, meaning that he would teach, he will train, he will lead, he would direct the disciples into all truth. Oh, child of God, okay. All truth in a moral sense, all truth in a mental sense, all truth in a spiritual sense, all truth in a physical sense, all truth in a natural sense. And I've experienced this. I'm telling you, at work, sometimes I don't even know what to do. I'm like, Holy Spirit, I need your help. Give me the skill, give me the knowledge, give me the insight how to go about doing this job. Child of God, I don't even know where that knowledge is coming from. Myself, I'm baffled. I'm like, ah, how did I know this? Then I realized that the spirit of all truth has revealed, has shown me exactly what to do. He's all knowing, he is all knowing, okay? He will tell you all things, anything that you need to know. If you're having issues in your marriage, if you're having issues in your in your ministry, he can reveal to you what to do. Like me, I'm I'm having issues in my marriage, but he's teaching me how to have an effective marriage, he's teaching me principles of successful marriage. There's no way I could I could have known these things because he's teaching, because he knows it all, he knows everything about life. That is why Jesus was saying that it's better for me to go, because he's he's full of knowledge, he's the spirit of wisdom, okay, the spirit of counseling, the spirit of understanding, the spirit of prudence, the spirit of discretion. He will declare things to you. Oh my god. God the spirit will declare, meaning that he will announce, he will proclaim, he will affirm, he will confirm, he will publicize. God the Son, He will glorify me, for He will take of what is mine and declare it to you. Again, He will never speak of His own accord, He will never speak in His own authority, He will take what He hears from Jesus and He will tell us, just as Jesus Christ did the same. Jesus said that I don't speak for my own accord. Jesus Christ could have done it, but he said, I say what I hear my father from, I do what I see my father did. It's like copycats. Jesus copied the Father, the Holy Spirit also copies Jesus, and that is why we as servants of God, as children of God, that's what the word is Christ-likeness, Christian. We are copycats, imitators of Jesus Christ. Don't try to reinvent or be creative in your own way, just follow the template. It is in the word of God. Just as God the Son declares God the Father, God the Spirit also came to declare God the Son. So God the Son declares God the Father in John 1 18. It says, The only begotten Son who is in the bosom of the Father has declared him. Only, only Jesus, the Son of God, has the right to tell us about the truth of God. Because he was from the Father. He is in the bosom of the Father, just as Jesus said that. Guys, let me go and I'm gonna send somebody from my father.

The Son knows God the Father, God the Spirit knows God the Father because they all came from the same place, they all came from heaven. So who better you listen to a man about God or listen to somebody who does not know the scripture to tell you about God? Don't listen to that type of person because we don't even know who God is, they don't even know where God is. So Jesus and the Holy Spirit have the right to tell us who God is because they came from where God is and they know who God is and they have lived with God. Okay. Conclusion: the Bible says, You and I we should test every spirit, discern, judge, differentiate knowledge, intention, and action and destination of every spirit. Okay, because the Bible says, My beloved, I do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they're of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. And another scripture that referenced this, one John 4, 6 says, We are of God. He who knows God hears us. He is not of God, does not hear us. But but this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Child of God, we have to test every spirit to differentiate between the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. There is a spirit of error, and that is the spirit of life, just as I mentioned before. So the recognition of truth from error is when you have a one-on-one personal relationship with God in a sense that you know God because you communicate with God, you connect with God, you have a communion with God, and you're committed in a constant relationship with God because that's the only way you can be safe. When you abide in Him, He abides in you. Look what it says in 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verse 15. But he who is spiritual judges all things. So if you're another if you're a spiritual man or woman, you have what it takes to judge all things. That's what makes you spiritual. You know how to judge all things, okay? The spirit of God cannot go against the scripture or the son of God. The spirit of God aligns with the scripture and the son of God. Test every spirit by confirming if they testify about the son of God. This is where I stop. Test every spirit by confirming if they testify about the son of God. So while you're testing, if they don't testify by the Son of God, then they are wrong spirit. That's why Islam is a wrong religion because they don't testify about the Son of God. Okay? Other religions, they are wrong because they don't testify about the Son of God. John 15, 26. But when the helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will testify about me. So where there's testimony about Jesus, then you are in the right place. And then Jesus has come into the flesh of God, he brings the word of God, and he has also come to declare the truth to us. And finally, the Bible says, when you and I will worship God, we have to worship God in what? In spirit and in truth. So for you to actually worship God, you have to do it in spirit and in truth. And the only way you can do that is through the Holy Spirit because it is the Spirit of God and it is the truth. Father God, I thank you for this time. Lord, thank you for this knowledge about the Holy Spirit, the name, the attribute, the title that you've given him, that he is the spirit of truth. And Lord, help us to align whatever he tells us with regards to the scripture. And I know that he will never contradict you. He will never contradict you, the Son, you the Father. God, that He will speak the truth of the Son of God, that He will stand for the truth of the Son of God, that He will show us the truth of the Son of God. Because He has come in your name, He has come to glorify you, and He has come to testify about you. Just as we have called to be a witness of the truth, help us also to come and go in your name for your own glory and to testify about you in your own authority. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
