Let's just look at the word quickly to empower us to quicken our spirit. Child of God, what I've learned is that Where there's altars and covenants names are being changed. I've noticed that. Where there are altars and covenants, names are also being changed, either for good or for bad. Do you know why? The Bible gave us so many names for Jesus. Because Jesus is establishing a covenant with us. Do you know why the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary and said, Mary, this child shall be called Emmanuel? You should name him Jesus, God with us. And these names signify sometimes your purposes, sometimes their nature, sometimes their situations. As you look at the women in the Bible, they give names to their children based on their current situations, sometimes based on their relationship with God. God also gives names based on his covenant with you. Sometimes based on what he wants to do in your life. So names carry a lot of potency. We see God giving God was the first person that started naming things, naming things. This is the name of this entity. That name will stand, and that name will carry along the nature, the function of that created thing. God name the solar bodies, the sun, and the moon, and your name signifies your purpose to give light. Now, God is so wonderful that we are made in his image and likeness to the extent that God share the naming power with us. That is why the Bible states that life and death is in the tongue because we name when we confess, we name from our mouth, we name from our words. You know how many titles are given to Jesus? In how many titles are given to us, and these names signify our identities as well. We are children of God, we are overcomers, we are the salt of the earth. These are all names because God has changed our names that you know how we have from our family background. Some of the names we carry, we don't even know what they signify. They call you Olu, but you know where Olu came from. God shared the naming right and the naming authority with Adam. Adam named all the animals, that was not enough. Adam named the female bearer of God, Adam named his wife, and Eve also named his son that I've gotten a human being from God. We see the trend of naming throughout the Bible. Let me read. When God made a covenant with Abraham, what he did. Yes, Abraham had a relationship with God, but God wanted to do something with Abraham to another level. That is Genesis 17. I'll read from verse 1. His name initially was Abraham. Okay, God was still relating with him, God was still relating with him. God called him out of his father's house with that same name. Yes, some of us we are believers, but we still carry the same name, and I'm here to tell that God wants to change your name. Your name might not change physically tonight, but I strongly believe that your name has to change spiritually. Your name has to change spiritually. The name of this church has to change from tonight. The names of our homes have to change from tonight. In the mighty name of Jesus, we take no know for an answer. Yes, Abraham started his journey with the same name in verse 17. He had it, he had an encounter, a different extent. That is why he said, Help God, we should never take certain encounters with God. That is why when you come into the house of the Lord, expect something, don't be familiar with God. It doesn't matter who is here, who is not here. One thing I've learned in my Christian life, as long as God is there, and God said where two or three are there, believe me, God is here. Who is more important than God? Are you trying to determine that 5,000 of millions of people are money? Even Jesus Christ had the multitude. But guess what? Nothing happened. It was only a few people who touched him. So, yes, we can have the crowd, nothing will happen. But Jesus said, Where two or three are gathered, in my name, I will be there. Who is more important than Jesus? Are you trying to determine that the prime minister is money? Are you trying to tell me that the prison worship leader is more important? Are you trying to tell me that we have to give God that glory? You see, so he had a different encounter and experience with God. He says in verse 7, chapter uh chapter 17, verse 1 when Abraham, again, same name, initial name, first name, was 99 years old, and the Lord appeared to Abraham and said to him, So for this name change to happen, there was an encounter. You see, I changed my name from my father's my father's last name, which is Mansareth, to my mother's last name, Calon. I don't know why I did that because I felt like he wasn't in my life, and he doesn't deserve. I don't, he doesn't deserve, I don't, anyways. I don't want to bash him because it's so rest in peace. But what I'm trying to say is that I explained to you guys the process, right? The government asked me why they want to change your name. Simple answer: I want to take my mom's last name because I have so much respect for my grandfather, you know, the cologne, so much respect for my grandfather. Because again, your name carries a reputation. The reason why I am proud to take my mom's last name is because of my grandfather, he was an honorable man, he was a reputable man, he was a he was a Muslim, but he feared God. I actually learned discipline from my grandfather. I can't just address Lydia like that. No, I have to put Auntie Lydia, Elder Lydia, Mama Lydia. There's no way I can do it. If I cannot, I can because I learned that from my grandmother, my grandfather, Mr. Calon, Pa Calon. So I I I decided to take his name because of respect. So if we're going to carry God's name, first of all, we need to know what we are carrying. We need to know what we are carrying. God wants to give us a name, but do we when God gives you that name, you we have to respect that name, we have to know the essence of that name because that name carries your nature. That's why I said off by saying that God wants to make you and then give you a name because you can have a good name, but if your character does not match that name, believe in me, that good name that you have is of no use. So God wants our character, our nature to match our name. When people say, Ah, is that upper room ministry? This is what they do, their deliverance church. When they come here, we want them to see what deliverance because our function, our activities match our name. Amen. So Abraham had a unique encounter, and the Lord appeared to Abraham and said to him, I am oh, even God, God introduced his name to Abraham. You see, you know, when you meet somebody new, what do you ask them? What's your name? Musumba, what's your name? Because your name, when you open your mouth, because I can't remember everything about you, but as soon as I hear that name, Musumba idiot. I can't pronounce your last name. I don't want to joke. I don't want to let me leave that word, you know, because I will spoil it. You know, when you pronounce that name, you are able to recall everything about this woman, what she has done for you, or what she's known by, just that name. You see how important name is. People might not remember everything at once, but when they hear that name, that name will ring a bell. Your name is a reminder. Ah, child of God. Hey, do you know why God appears and gives us his name to remind us? I am this, I am that. That is why Moses said, God, what shall I tell your people now? Because there's so much I know about you, but what should I tell your people? He said, I don't have a specific name, I am that I am, I shall be what I shall be. No matter your situation, I will come in that situation. You will see another side of me, mama. You will see another dimension of me, you will see another experience of me, you will see another glory of me, and then you can give me a name, or I will give you a name. Whenever the children of like Abraham, when they encounter God, you know what they do, they build an altar and they name the altar. That is why I said that altars and covenants they work with names. When they encounter God in a particular place, they will give a name based on the encounter with God. We see that a lot in the scripture, the power of name. One time I will study that very well and preach in this church about the power of name. So God introduced himself. I am Almighty God. Ah, you are what the Almighty God. So, who is talking to you is not a small God, who is dealing with you is not a small God, the Almighty God. Hey, in this church, the Almighty God, because you came from a household of God, but guess what? I am the Almighty God of the gods. That is why God said, I'm the God of what? Of gods, because He's trying to differentiate Himself. No, God, our God is good. He said, Look what He said, He said, Walk before me and be blameless. You see, you see, you see what God is doing before God changed his name. He said what is God is working on his character, child of God. Ah, we don't want to hear this. Whenever we talk about change, we don't like to Christians. We don't like to hear change, we don't like to hear change. He says, Abraham, before I'm gonna change your name, do what? Walk before me and be blameless. Hey, walk before me and be blameless, because you're dealing with a pure God, you're dealing with a holy God, you're dealing with a righteous God, and my name is the Almighty God. I don't just carry that name just for the namesake, it carries my nature, it carries my attributes, child of God, and then he said, And and and I will make my covenant between me and you. Ha! And I will make my covenant between you and you, you, me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly. Then, then Abraham fell on his face. Again, his name is mentioned. Fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. God introduced himself. God did what made a covenant with Abraham. The only expect two things that God did for Abraham, or God expected from Abraham, just one. He said, Walk before me. You focus on changing, I will focus on changing your name. But the hard part is that what God expects from us is what at times we want to neglect to work on ourselves, to allow him to work on ourselves. He can change your name, he can do that, he can make a covenant with you, he can do that. That is his part, that is his role. Okay, he said, in verse 5, this is where now, okay. We have seen while I was saying that when when when Jesus said, Peter, I will make you, and then I will use you as fishes of men, but before I use you, I have to make you. So before God will make Abraham a father, again, a father of nations, he said, Abraham, walk before me and be blameless. And then God said in verse 5, No longer shall your name you see. Me, I changed my own name. God did not instruct me to change my own name. When I changed my own name, I blessed it. But God, there was no instruction, okay? But if God is the one, Musumba, that instructed you to change your name, ah, you have divine backing. God is the one changing your name, and he will back up that name, he will ensure you live up to that name. Hey Kalaba, if oh my god, he will ensure you live up to the standard of that name. If God said we are upper room ministry, a place where do you know what happened in upper room? Hey yeah, do you know what happened in upper room? Tongues of fire, things of the spirit. That is why here we speak in the Holy Ghost, that is why here we operate in the spirit, because we believe in the works of the spirit, because the Bible said, With the spirit of the Lord is this what this liberty, this freedom. Amen. So he said, No longer shall your name be called Abram, Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you a father of many nations. So his name carries a promise and purpose, his name carries promise and purpose, a father of many nations, it's not just a random name, a senseless name, a meaningless name. No, it's a name that carries a promise and purpose. The last time I share with you guys, do not know about your destiny, and I explained to you guys the fulfillment of this covenant was made when the children of Israel they were many and they were mighty in Egypt. This was the prophecy because God changed a man's name from Abraham to Abraham, meaning father of many nations. Okay, for I have made you a father of many nations, I will make you exceedingly fruitful. Wow, I will make nations of you. That's exactly what we saw. And guess what? People wanted to kill his people. He said, When God changed your name, some people, even though oh my god, some people will fight to slander your name, but they will not succeed because no number one, you didn't give yourself that name. So if you're fighting your name, you're fighting who they're fighting God. If you're fighting your name, they are fighting God. He says, I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I'll make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. Oh my god. Ah, this name carries a lot, Musumba. It's not just a mere name, a name of substance, a name of significance. He will be a father of many nations. No, that kings will come from you.
unknown:Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00:That name carries to your children. Children, if God changed your name, Musumba, he carries with Israel, He carries with Anna, He carries with them. If God changed your name, Olivia, He carries with your children. Mama Jane, God change your name, He carries with your grandchildren, He carries. That name is not just gonna be for you, it continues. That is why in our world, when you mention a particular name, there's reverence. But who established that name? Your forefathers. When they see somebody with that name, are you from this clan? Are you from this particular type of family? We are there in African culture. Certain names you mention, they are powerful names. They can get whatever they want. No, we are children of God. Why does it seem that we carry born again? Overcomers I shall be the head, not the tail. The first, not the last. But it's as if nobody respects us. It's as if nobody cares about that name that we carry. What's wrong? Is it because God something is wrong with God? No. Something is wrong with you. If you don't know, ask God why I carry your name, but there's no power. Ah, child of God. We are gonna pray. We are gonna pray. I'll finish with this. And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your descendants after you and their generations for an everlasting covenant to be God to you. Oh my God, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Altars is all about who is your God. Altars is all about who do you worship. Altars is all about who do you serve. But I like what Joshua said as for me and my house, we shall serve the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
